The way, women sometimes behave! (Part -1)

( This anecdote consists of two parts)

To say, it’s merely recalling of an anecdote; but this incidence forced me to think and got blissed later on. Sometimes it happens with every one, be it a man or woman. He/she is given to express his/her opinion when get carried away under the impulse. Indubitably, person concerned as such fosters no intention to hurt the feelings of another person before him or her, when relating his opinion or view. As I often have told in my different blogs that I happen to  dwell in a colony of my Himalayan foot hill city. My this colony locates away at a distance of about half an km from a single railway track . This track remains engaged whole the day with the passing of different trains. Here to emphasize on this railway track is necessitated, for its description is described at the  last part of this blog.

In fact it occurred that one of my neighbors in the colony, on being enraged with his wife suddenly left the house at once. He recently been retired  from the government job. As we often notice in our Indian society that on reaching the age of retirement or being older in other cases, woman as a wife becomes dominant over the ageing husband. Perhaps, this is their method of taking avenge against the husband. This avenge against husband is, for the so called atrocities (as women take it,) inflicted upon as life long dominance of man in household affairs. Women always fosters a conception that at the various stages of life long domesticity, they were put under hardship by their husband.

To them, the causes of this type of atrocities may be of any kind which kept on simmering in their mind. For instance, it may be felt to a wife, husband had always been in habit to  prefer his own parents, siblings and kin on every occasion and neglecting her kin and parents always. Or it may be, on certain occasions, not taking her into confidence when taking important decisions about the household affairs and so on. Otherwise also, women live with a disposition not to be satisfied by the working pattern of their husbands. In a nutshell, in old age, the relationship between husband and wife “transforms” into a “toxic bond.” Though, apparently the couple present themselves as soulmate in public.

The same situation was here. Although, every thing  was good at the home front there. Their daughters were married timely and happy in the in-laws’ house. Only son was settled in  Bombay with his family and both they were left here in the house. On a day, when I reached back my house, my better half informed me, ” do you know? Mr. ‘B’ in the neighbor has left the house on becoming enraged two days ago. No where about of his being been traced out. I already have visited her to console her, you should also visit her place to commiserate her as a good neighbor.” Since, the advice was propitious hence I visited her place.

When I reached over there, I found three other gentlemen from the colony present there on the same drive as I had been. Now one thing revealed to me there about the women’s nature.  Whatsoever toxic they may be in dealing with husbands, but under such kind of agony, they begin to relate the true facts. The old lady, wife of Mr. ‘B’ related about the cause of disputes with her husband. She told, ” The extremely old aged ailing mother of Mr. ‘B’ happens to live in a far away hill side native village with her youngest son’s family members. That parental village lies at a distance of about three hundred Km from this colony.

The another son happens to stay permanently in the nearby city of the native village at a distance of only sixty Km. That city is also well equipped with all the modern medical health care facilities. No doubt, old mother is in need of proper medical treatment. Hence, this made me to suggest him that she should preferably stay with the son in nearest city. I also argued that in such a fragile age its not proper to force her to travel the long journey of three hundred Km. Oh brother! What I can say? Merely on this suggestion an altercation broke out and strife continued for two days. This made him furious and he took this harsh step to leave the house at once.”

The reasoning of wife of Mr. ‘B’ was practically correct. The old mother of Mr. ‘B’ was about ninety years old and in fragile condition of health. Hardly she could afford to travel this long journey to the place of Mr. ‘B’ with her delicate physical state. But men are also given to think and perceive the issue from their own angle. Perhaps, the perception of Mr. ‘B’ was that he was the eldest son of mother. Secondly, a filial attachment might be the cause. This sort of affection for mother still exists in our old male generation. This is the Sanskaras we derive.

Well! For two days, long arguments continued between Mr ‘B’ and wife, but eventually he lost the tug of war. In the fit of anger, he left the house at once in the same clothes he was clad. Amazingly, on purpose, he also left behind his mobile phone in the house. Wife thought, on temporary anger he has walked out and would come back after roaming hither and thither. But Mr. ‘B’ was not shown back even when the evening fell. In between the same time, several phone calls also came on the phone. Wife was of the opinion, he forgot the phone in anger. But the fact was, Mr ‘B’ left it behind on purpose so that wife or any one else couldn’t be able to communicate with him. Wife waited for coming hours in the evening but when night fell completely, it worried her down to the core of the heart. Now she rang on to nearest friends and relations of Mr. ‘B’ in the local circle of the city, but nothing substantial came up. He was no where seen or contacted in the present local circle.
