We often use a maxim, ” as the luck would have it.” This connotes our thinking that whatever efforts or hard work we dedicate to achieve our goal, is subject to an specific element. This element is termed as “destiny or luck or fate.” May there be various arguments about this element of ” destiny or luck,” some one may say, unless efforts are not given, nothing could be achieved. This argument is sustainable, one has to take initiative in shape of efforts to attain a goal.
The key phrase of this blog is, whether an achievement or attainment in the name of “destiny or luck” is a singular outcome or the result of some collective efforts? Here, collective efforts meant people who have participated indirectly for the achievement of a person ; The person who has been specifically accredited for the achievement! A paradigm of the “luck of a Nation,” is here. The Prime Minister or the Head of a State, by his some decisive move, can lead his Nation to some new heights. On the contrary, any such wrong decision of the Head of the State be proven a doom to the Nation.
Whom luck you will point out for this? A good decision of the Head of the State, when implemented by all citizens, bringing a positive result be considered as the ” collective efforts.” Although, the credit of success is accredited into the account of the leader. In case of failure the peril of notoriety too is bound to be accredited into the account of the leader. It means, whatever achievement, one attains and accredited is not by his sole efforts. This is an out come of assistance of so many people who remained “unsung.”
A little more deviating from the point, as instances; man has invented so many inventions. and many of them are so astonishing. In this world, man has succeeded in manufacturing ( after invention or discovery) various speedy machines, which can fly beyond the velocity of sound, but man has not been able to make his body run or fly beyond his physical limits. Though, we may say, since man’s mind flies with an infinite velocity in shape of imagination, this makes him able to invent such sort of machines. Again here, all the inventions, though accredited to “one man’s account” as his sole achievement or invention, in fact been assisted by so many other people.
The disentanglement of invention, as the sole achievement comes up in shape of “idea” of the mind of the inventor, that makes him able to attain the achievement. It depends, how he gives shape to his “original idea,” but with the assistance of others. But it’s again is a mystery, why a person becomes successful with efforts, while others in the same circumstances, with the same given efforts face the failure? So here come the occultism or the blessing of god upon some specific person, accredited with the achievement!
How mankind been able to achieve various goals? Simple, through its collective efforts. This can easily be understood through some instances. The invention of “flying machine,” came in the beginning in shape of idea into the mind of some specific person. To realize this idea, he needed some instruments and appliances. In fact, the basics of those instruments were already in existence. For example, parts of the body structure of machine in shape of metal, engine parts, fuel etc. No doubt, all these preexisted parts too were invented already by some one. This is the example of “collective efforts.”
The man, who successfully took his first flight in the air , was recognized as the inventor of air plane. But no where the name of the persons, who helped to provide appliances and accessories were mentioned in this list. Not only this, if we look back into the history of people, who tired to fly in the air in the past and without proper back up and lost their lives in that drive; their efforts and scarification we don’t find mentioned any where in this head.
Likewise, when an ” artifact” in shape of modern building is constructed, it is given shape by the assistance of hard work of multitude of people. They may be engineers, labors, petty – architects, electricians, masons, plumbers etc, etc, but when building comes up as a piece of “artifact,” the chief architect of building and person who financed the project are given the full credit.
