Riddle of mind
This article is being penned down with the sole object to make an attempt to solve a riddle. This riddle is, “who commands who?” Our every bodily action is in consequence of some message sent to mind, we work under some message. Whether mind directs us to deliver that message. Here is an example. If we have to lift up something fallen on the ground, we extend our hand and pick that thing and place it at the place we desire. Here question is, who gave the command to the hand to do this? Simple answer is, “we gave the command.” But here, hand completed the entire process from receiving the message from the complex nervous system of the mind.
It means, we gave the command to our mind or brain, but, how it is possible when brain or mind commands everything? How without the assistance of brain, this type of command be generated?. Along with it, whole through our life we remain entangled into an another psychological enigma, sometimes we follow the advice of mind and sometimes we are moved by our heart. In our diurnal life, we often receive the advice from sagacious people, “bro, follow the instructions of mind, not of heart. Heart is innocent one.” Here again, medical science announces that our every action is being governed by the complex nervous system of the mind! This simply envisages, there arises no question of being governed by the heart.
Hormonal effect
This is the riddle that is intricate one and a common man tries to extricate this in his own way but is unable to. Medical science makes hormonal secretion liable for this emotional drive of the heart. But this hormonal secretion too is commanded by our mind. Eventually it comes up that our brain or mind commands everything. Once again, when we saw the fallen object and commanded our hand to lift it up, it means we sent the command to our mind. But the flaring question is, how and from which source this desire to lift up the fallen object and put it at a proper place got generated? Answer is, since “brain or mind” is the proper place which generates every reflection and thought, so whether our brain gave us command or we gave the command to the brain! Why we felt that as a human machine we gave the command! Isn’t it a funny riddle!
Another level of mind
Our mind or brain is such a complex construction that commands and controls functioning of our each and every organ of the body. But it feels to us that our body is doing that. The vitality of mind can be understood by the paradigm that if a person receives some fatal head injury, it affects the functioning of body parts governed by the faculty of that part of the brain. By such injuries, some part of our limbs may be paralyzed or our sense of hearing or speech be impaired.
Now we take the example of a classroom. There a group of students in the same class don’t score the equal marks in exam. One is topper, another doing good and some are lagging behind. We may endorse this to the quality control of each mind separately. Here again medical science says, still, we have been able to use only 2%-4% of the caliber of our mind as intelligence quotient.
Facet of future
In near future when man shall be able to use the entire strength or caliber of the mind power, we can’t even imagine that apex development of civilization. This process of “use or application of mind” can be comprehended by the “inventions” made by man in past one and half centuries, by merely applying the 2%-4% intelligence quotient. Man externally was the same in that era as well but he applied his mind and today he is in a far comfortable zone of living standard.
These inventions have materialized the fancy imagination of man on the ground. Science says, every day, the number of thoughts generated by our mind is more than sixty thousand in number, But how many of these thoughts we ably remember in a day ? Hardly three to four thoughts a day we can recount. Even after some hours these thoughts too get deleted from our memory bank. Again we come to the question, “who commands who?” This command impels us to do benevolent deeds or wrong doing. Sagacious people say, man is ever effected by the company he keeps. It simply connotes, our mind ably receives the communicating vibes intensely from another mind. Where this receptacle of mind locates?
Flaring question
In true senses, we are at an infantile stage to solve this riddle of functioning of mind. The entire medical fraternity is after this issue. The flaring question is who is inducing or motivating a man to find the answer of this riddle. The answer comes as, the mind is motivating the mind itself to find the real answer of this riddle.
Means, brain as an inseparable organ of the human body, motivating, stimulating the human being to try to understand, explore the mind or brain in itself. The same philosophy too has been long back in,Vedas been inscribed as “Know thyself.” Finally, we accept the existence of “God” as a mystical one. This thought too is generated by our mind.
