News papers and daily astrological predictions

                                            I am in a dilemma

Being a Hindu I ‘ve got complete faith in astrology and there is big deal of Hindu majority having faith as such. We tend to go through daily predictions, published in daily news papers on a specific column, in every such paper. Newspapers’ management too exploit our this predilection . Like multitude of other readers, I too tend to throw daily glance at this astrological column.  Whilst, I know the fact that roughly total population of Hindus, in my India is about one billion and as there are, in all, twelve zodiac signs. As such each sign covers estimated eighty million of population, and to predict about the fate of this big number of people is not possible as such.

It is furthermore an arduous task, when you find such prediction, explained within one hundred letters only.  Your up and down of the entire day are predicted there, and, now you are left confused to extract out the meaning most suitable to you. Despite of all this, people are given to go through the daily astrological statements and make up their mind cheerful, dubious, forewarn etc. Not only this, owing to their faith in astrology, they accept this kind of statement with a slight seriousness. I am also one of them.

                                Contradictory predictions

Sometimes these astrological statements (predictions) lead you to a dilemma. How ? I describe it. It is because of contradictory predictions of the astrologers in different newspapers at the same date. For instance, you go through the astrological column of daily newspaper named “Daily Herald”. Your zodiac sign predicts, your day cheerful and with chances of some monetary gains along with good tuning with your superiors.

Now you happily arrive at your office, haply you find another newspaper of the day named “Dakota News”. You throw a glance at the astrological column of your zodiac sign, and, it trembles you down to your knee by saying,” A dull day with sour relations with friends and officials. Be ware of monetary dealings you may loose money.” This is the dilemma… I happen to point out at the very beginning of this article.

                                                          Lack of accuracy

What lead to, two contradictory astrological predictions of the same day and of the same zodiac sign and reasons behind for this. Either one of these two astrologers is not accurate in reading the movement of the planets and stars. Another reason may be the competitive instinct between these two astrologers.  That is quite possible at present time to be acquainted with, what kind of prediction adversary astrologer is going to make .

And last but not the least, the overconfidence of editors of newspapers, who tend to publish prototype predictions in the fake name of some astrologer. They (editors) know that no one is coming to challenge the astrological predictions.  Then why should they make payment to some astrologer. The same payment could be embezzled by editors by showing payment in cash.

My suggestion to these editors is, don’t waste your newspapers ‘space on these coquettish things. Since readers are well aware of astrology otherwise also through internet. Better use that space in the advertisement of some lucrative items such as “potency of male” or ‘ how come bald people develop a thatched hair on their top.” Penned by–vinay pharasi.
