(Recap– In the previous episode, the incidence was expatiated that led to make young Alchemist behave weirdly. As we read about in the episode of great king Montana’s secret meeting with Ex-Army Chief…. In continuation to that …..)
For the reader of the present era, the perplexed and panicked condition of Alchemist may look like a laughing stock. And it carries the reasons, since today’s reader is already an educated one and fraught with knowledge. He is acquainted with so may scientific facts and laws. But if reader just try to imagine about the ambiance of the period of time of invention by the young Alchemist, then it will make him feel near to the reality. A young Alchemist, who by chance happened to invent a sort of device, that never before in the known history of the mankind was in existence.
Further neither any one was aware of its effect. I am talking of coming up of “Mirror” into existence for the first time as an invention by the young Alchemist. This story belongs to the period of time of the Eon that was supposed to be in existence prior to our this present Eon. In the previous episode, we also read about that flabbergasted young Alchemist set in panic out side of his workshop premise. On approaching of evening, his feet automatically began to move on for evening stroll on the known path. Never before in his life he felt himself so troubled and off the rails. The truth was, he was plagued by bad thoughts that unfortunately some evil-spirit had been invoked by his experimentation in the workshop.
He was in a condition unable to find some solution to get rid of this evil-spirit. Not only this, he was badly obsessed by the prospective thoughts of his work shop being captured by the evil-spirit. It seemed to him, if he became divested of the possession of the “workshop,” then purpose to live a life was to become vague to him. At some nook of his heart, the thought to commit suicide too had begun to germinate in bleak mood, if the “evil-spirit” proved to be presented in sooth. The reasons for summoning of these bleak thoughts too had some reasons. He had succeeded to find a filthy rich in-laws as a sponsor. As a bonanza, a pretty, beautiful wife he had had. Along with, he ever took his future as secured one because of all this.
He had had so may plans for a long, deep research on various subjects in different fields in near future. But now, if this evil-spirit happened to take the possession of the workshop and destroy everything, might be she too assail other nearby places in coming days as well. He had heard so many sinister stories of ghost haunted people and places. How this kind of horrific, vagrant souls had ruined so many people’s families. By recalling those horrible stories, his entire being kept on trembling during his stroll. What to do to escape from the present situation rather to find some solution was his main object of worries.
He began to recall about the options, he too had heard corollary to those stories. It made him recall, in the kingdom, there were some sorcerers and necromancers of high repute, who happened to provide services to exorcise people from ghost haunting. But when he thought about the “repute” of those necromancers; as a second thought, it also occurred to him that he too was a “man of repute’ of his own field. He was taken as a thriving and promising Young alchemist whole through the entire territory of the kingdom. This criteria too could not be ignored by him in his own case. His this ability had helped him to get accepted as a son-in-law of feudal Lord Magattee.
If haply, the story of his work shop being haunted filtered out then it might lead to a disaster for his futuristic prospects. Might be, Lord Magattee force him to divorce his daughter and devoid him of every facility. Alchemist knew, his father-in-law Lord Magattee was a powerful entity and held a strong position in the court of the King. These thoughts were gnawing his heart. Plagued deeply by thoughts, he knew not, to day he had wasted just the double the time in strolling than his routine time of evening walk. Sometime his walk slackened, on times he became stand still at some places. His neck down on his chest and face completely gloomy.
Who walked by past him, he even not aware of that. This was the time when sleuths of Ex-Army chief were following him very closely. Otherwise also, people of high acumen like him are given to remain by themselves. They don’t care or notice such sort of activities of being watched by some secret agency. When it became thick dark then he realized he was late today. Side by side, a scary thought summoned to his mind that made his spine run chill. He had heard, “bad spirits” become more stronger and mighty in the dark of the night and attack on the prospective target easily.
To him, he was an unfortunate man who by himself had created an evil- spirit in his own workshop. He retreated in almost in racing maneuver to his workshop. His this hasty maneuver too got noticed by sleuths. When he arrived on the main gate of the premise of the workshop, it was dense dark. Even one hand not visible before another hand. Young Alchemist couldn’t muster the courage to enter workshop in this darkness. The thought of being assailed by the evil-spirit was possible. Though, there was an inner connecting gate from the yard of the workshop to the new present abode of his in-laws, but he decided to enter the in- laws’ house from the main gate of the residence. This was safe to him.
In silence,, he took the round of the premise of the workshop and appeared on the main gate of the residence. There sentinel greeted him, but he was lost in his thoughts and took no any notice. There, he moved to the flank of the house where his wife had her domesticity. He remembered not, whether he took supper that evening or not, what were the menu, that too obliterated from his mind. To his wife, his this kind of behavior was not an uncommon thing. To her, he was given to the habit to remain lost in thoughts. That night, he couldn’t sleep properly and kept on tossing on his bed. Merely, one thought kept on hovering into his mind, ” how to get riddance from the evil-spirit?” (End of the Part 8th. Cont’d.) Penned by — Vinay Pharasi —–
