Unbridled story (Part 12th) —

(Recap– In the last episode, we read about under what circumstances the old lady, meant the mother-in-law of the young Alchemist was assailed by the bout of the unconsciousness in the workshop.….)

Although, alchemist and his wife had carried the unconscious old lady back into the present home, but they were in a tight spot. Back in the home there were present the crowd of domestic help as usual. They all lined up just out at the door of sleeping chamber of the lady of the house in worried position. Only an old timed, trusted female attendant stood inside by the side of the bedstead of the old lady in alert mode. In this situation, if old lady suddenly would have resumed back to her conscious status, she probably could have murmured something about her underwent experiences in the workshop. That   could somehow led to some mess in disfigured shape about the new invention as a rumor in time to come. In her delirium old lady could have babbled some nonsense!

To avoid the situation, young Alchemist at once sent for feudal Lord Magatee a trusted male attendant. He knew, at this time of the day, feudal lord usually found at a tavern busy in entertainment with his friends. Young Alchemist and his wife knew it well that before the feudal lord all servants behaved like a meek and submissive person like slave. Only a move of his eye brows was enough to all of them make disappear from the spot. By being an alchemist, young man too had ample knowledge from the angle of giving treatment in such case as that of old lady. He knew that after some lapse of time, in a natural process old lady was bound to have a normal recovery.

The same kind of bout of unconsciousness he too had experienced on encountering for the first time with the mirror. This situation was good for him either. Till that time arrival of the feudal lord Magatee was anticipated. Along with, he felt, may whatever come up, now he was forced to reveal about his new invention to his father-in-law. For that purpose, he took his wife to a remote corner of the chamber and in a low voice entrusted her with the liability to let know her father about the invention in detail. Afterwards, she should relate about the impact of first impression of “mirror effect” on the mother. Otherwise also, his wife was the only child of the father and feudal lord Magatee fostered a special fondness for the daughter.

The news of ill health of wife put Feudal lord to negotiate his journey back to the house in haste. There he queried about the reasons of her being in such condition. Daughter, firstly requested the father to get removed all domestic servants from the scene. On a single mute gesture all servants disappeared from the scene. Old lady’s trusted female attendant too were asked to leave the chamber. Now daughter began to relate calmly with chosen words about the new invention of her husband in detail. At the first, feudal lord didn’t assent to trust her description. But when daughter related her own experiences and why mother became unconscious on encountering the mirror, it somewhere assured him.

Till now, the bodily constitution of the old lady been prompted to resume to consciousness. Alchemist splashed some drops of water on her face. It helped her to resume somewhat proper consciousness.  But still her pupils were dilated, as if, she was under a scary spell after encountering an apparition. She revolved her eyes around the room and found her husband, daughter and son-in-law before her. She also realized, she laid on her bedstead in her own sleeping chamber. The feudal lord touched her face gently and asked softly, ” what has happened to you darling?”

” I saw a witch there inside there!’ Old lady responded in a meek, trembling voice. Feudal lord took her hand in his and said with a sweet smile, ” That was nothing sort of any jinni or witch darling. It’s a great moment of felicity and cheering to us that our son-in-law succeeded in inventing a new unique invention. This new invention probably may generate a magnificent name and fame to our family. Further, if great king Montana duly appreciate the invention, that may bring forth huge wealth to our son-in-law. This may help to our son-in-law and daughter to live a more luxurious and lavish life than us!”

To the old lady who was in a confused and perplexed state of mind, such sort of talks were beyond comprehension. Still, she was obsessed with the thought that she had encountered with a witch there in the workshop. Not only this, in her eyes, the invoking of the witch or jinni was an act of her ill-fated son-in-law. She too had a misconception that jinni had prepared a clone of her daughter. Even she was gripped to the extinction that her mind was not ready to accept the daughter in the room as her original daughter. She was a copy creation of jinni in her eyes. This wagon of thoughts again put a load on her mind and she again caught by a drowsiness and fell to a deep sleep.

Now, a serious discussion about the invention was taking place amid father, daughter and son-in-law. The major worry was, this secret had to be kept confined in the family prior to revealing it before the great king Montana. Any inkling to some one else might spoil the result. But the physical condition of old lady was not normal and she might need the assistance of female attendant under this situation. Finally, it was decided feudal lord Magatee by himself in person was to attend his wife the whole night. This was also needed to persuade and convince the old lady. This decision also relieved female attendant temporarily from the duty.

It was expected by next morning, old lady might resume to normalcy. It was also decided, if everything goes in accordance with the plan then on tomorrow feudal lord Magatee be put to the physical presentation before the mirror. after that, further plan to relate about the new invention to the great king Montana was to be given a shape.
