                                               Foreword in context to

The dream of owning a printing press and running a fortnightly magazine captured deeply my fancy during the student life. This passion impelled me to the extent, so that, never I pondered about any other option for my stable future of life . In short, I had decided to adopt the carrier of journalism and writing as my chief aim of the life. When I resolved to this, that was the period of time in the proximity of the year of 1982 and the genuine journalism and fashion of running of newspapers and periodical magazines were flourishing properly either.

At that time, the entrepreneurship for industrial business was confined to  certain chosen business class people who have had a knack for that and private jobs were scarcely available. Further more and more people in majority had a mind set inclined to  to get settled with some government job after finishing the education.  As it would have been, everyone was not lucky enough to secure government job. As far as, my own future plan concerned, never I gave any thought about the government job, though upon the insistence of the parents I had obtained a degree of science graduate and my parents wished that at least I should hold a post graduate degree in the same subject, for, it was considered prestigious to hold a degree as Master of Science, a Master degree with science subjects were taken as brilliant and intelligent sign as well.

The reason to support the fact was, the student with Master degree of science  were expected of becoming doctors, scientists, engineers or professor of the subject in the near future. Apart from, at that period of time, seats of students in science faculties were limited one and such admission were sought on restrictively controlled merit list and this was enough to put a student  on a esteemed position after qualifying for admission. Basically, I belonged to the main foothill city and still I stay there. My lineage had its origin from hill side as a highlander and as on today my legacy belongs to that region.

My father in his prime youth once migrated to this foothill city in search of governmental job long ago and became a permanent settler here. Yes, the fact remained intact that in that period of time, when a person despite of his being settled in a far away city never made him think to disconnect from his legacy of original place of birth. The connectivity with native country in hilly region was a regular aspect. Although, we all the siblings were born and brought up in the city culture but the original source of our kinship ever remained connected to the parental place. Never we felt disconnected from our highland culture.

Specifically in my personal case, I ever felt this connectivity for the reason, the science subject I got inclined to seek an admission , was available only in two degree collages of my city and my name could not find place in the merit list there. It occasioned that a new University was recently established in this region and the main campus was allocated in the parental city of my father in the hilly track; there the desired subject of science faculty existed as well. At that period of time, in general, students from city side hardly opted to assign for any hill side degree collage due to lack of urban amenities. This made me try for the admission in the main campus and I easily qualified  for the merit list.

The satisfying situation for the parents were that  at a suitable distance of merely three km from the campus, my aunt’s (father’s sister) in laws’ village located and by staying in that family atmosphere, I comfortably could finish my educational course. Otherwise also, having an aptitude for literary endeavor it suited me best to be there and live a life in the lap of the nature. So this made me to move to the hilly village of aunt in a comfortable situation. An another soothing factor was, the village where aunt had got wed locked, all we siblings frequently used to visit intermittently whenever (summer) vacation permitted us, besides, aunt’s children too were of the same age group as that of we siblings  and a tuning already was in existence with them. I knew not about such cordial bond in the city culture but in that era, in rural society, a community cordial bond existed with its roots deep down to the core of the heart. In a way, entire village community seemed and felt in a whole, as a family. ( End of the part-1. Cont’d )
