                               Socially discarding tricks

Nowadays, often we observe an air of silence, in almost all houses around us. Even we don’t find people wasting time in exchanging dialogues, as, they once used to have copiously. Even the noise of quarreling children are not so frequent. This is the impact of “social media.” Every one is engrossed into his hand set phone. With the introduction of land line telephone  and cellphone, dwindling  in socializing commenced.   But the Android phone harnessed with internet and all kinds of visual apps put almost all the scenario to a stop. Our all kind of socializing is on ‘social media.’

No physical contact, but virtual communication has almost taken over us. It’s badly effecting the proverbial cordiality, once named as “kith and kin” that people enjoyed with real contact.The social media in a way, helping people to play some socially discarding tricks. Firstly, it changed the propensity of human nature and made them insular. It’s not uncommon to go through such kind of post, ” Planning to visit Laxmi Naarayan Temple on coming Sunday, along with whole family.” In sooth, no one visits the temple, entire family stay back in house, enjoying indoor “social media” or watching some favorite movie. They just play this trick to avoid visitors.

If you notice some clamor, in shape of  angry voice emitting  from a house. Take it granted, the Android phone been snatched from child’s hand and asked to  complete the home work. Obviously, to the child, it sounded atrocious to debar him from his fundamental right of enjoying the social media.  Not so long back, when the man of the house used to visit the market for grocery shopping, he was supposed to carry a list in the hand. Now he searches the list on the screen of the phone. Not only this, if he plans to shop some household items or female wear for the lady of the house, like shoe or clothing, he sends the photos of that to gain the approval.

                                                  Weird usage

The social media with the assistance of Android phone, helping each and every one to fulfill his ambitions as well. People infested with the addiction of acting, cinematography, dancing, motivational speaker etc, all they are uploading their recorded videos. In every lane, village etc an army of producers cum directors has emerged up. All they are bright with prospectus, the  day is to come,  when they will be invited by some renowned film maker to assist him. Some of them are over expectant and dreaming, such producer to visit their house in person and entreat them to accept the liability. This some how seem to reduce the overcrowd of aspirant youth, that, once planned to elope directly to the Bollywood.

                                              fray and scuffle

The explosive situation of fray and scuffle is worth noticing in the category of political fans. there, big hilarious confusion prevails.  A political fan, named Ram lal, in his emotional blind support to his most liked political leader, posts a rude comment for opponent party.  The blind supporter of opponent political party, named Shyam lal is badly offended by this remark. He responds with much more clumsy post. Now a scene of obscene material is in the air, crossing all the barriers of etiquette.  Now, a full and sensational episode is floating in the air, fraught with abusive epithets, other people enjoy this all on the social media.

The Facebook platform is often the most frequently used as a field for such scuffle. In this episode, both the supporters, busy in unclothing each-other’s family’s women in virtual mode. Facebook has rather  applied all the restrictions in the name of “against our community standards.“ But of no use.

Professional thieve, too are doing good deal of business with the help of the social media. Some people, with the intention to feel other friends envious, upload some pictures. The caption of the post is, “enjoying trip to Malaysia with family.” Back here, burglars informed by this clue, are inside the house and running off with all the valuables.

                                   Sending of message indirectly

I have got one friend, who is in a habit to upload frequently pics, by having a glass of alcoholic drinks in hand. This photo may be of some bar, picnic spot or of his own house. I queried him about this eccentric behavior. He weirdly made me realized that he is father of two sons, eligible for marriage. Through the post, he indirectly sending message to the would be “father in law” of sons, how to treat him after the marriage of his sons.

An another friend of mine, who whole through his life, had been parasite on his wife on account of her being a government employee.  Now wife got retired from the job. This inspired him to upload some posts displaying him as  a “victim husband.” I advised him, not to enter the “danger zone”  at this juncture of old age. He simply responded, ” I have zeroed her face value now, so there exists no danger zone.” What a long awaited planning to settle the score.

What all this is? If this trend is given a name of expressing the views, it’s not acceptable. Expression of views require ethics and norms acceptable to the society. when you cross that limit, it counts to “voicing of the frustration” only. Penned by — Vinay Pharasi …..
