The incubation of dreams...
“Dream” in itself is a complex process. Research scholars in this field, are of the view that not only mankind, even animals too are prone to dreaming. If you are a pet lover, just observe keenly the sleeping pattern of your pet cat regularly. You will notice that in sleeping posture, your cat too wags her tail as she wags in wake up condition . That wagging of tail may be in cheerful mood, or in an alarming mood. Not only this, sometimes in sleeping posture she displays her mouth full of water, and saliva dripping out of her mouth .
It,s in semblance to the human behaviour, as if, in sleep (in dream,) she was relishing her choosy dish of a rat. After this, cat may wake up with a jerk, and, tries to stare around her, as if supposing to find the same delicacy . The intent to describe all this is that dreaming is a process, which probably some animals and all human beings experience. With only difference that man can relate, describe, analyse and share his dreams. This process of sharing and analyzing of dreams, certainly is very old. So that an offshoot of knowledge in this segment has been introduced with the name “interpretation of dreams.”
Importance of dreams
Researchers having a unanimity, about the “dream” that of course, it,s a complex process. But, this process, indubitably plays a significant role in the personality development. With the proviso, if the culture of dreaming is evolved properly. In this culture of dreaming the “incubation of dreams” and “interpretation of dreams” play the vital role. The interpretation depends on details of dreams, and varies from individual to individual. Further more, is a continuous process based upon man to man imaginary drive and real life experiences.
Not only this, the drive of dreams is subject to changes, with the growing of age and attaining of maturity, in a proportionate way either. The dreams sometimes help in providing proper guidance for coming events. Some times, they help relieve you tension, and in contrast may, sometimes be traumatic in the form of nightmare.
Dream’s matrix
The efforts have been given to categorize and interpret the dreams from time immemorial or since the dawn of civilization. The old texts on the subjects are available in various major cultures of the World. An amazing factor, in categorizing of dreams revealed that some dreams are dreamt by people all around the World with the same experience. In the sense, as one goes through the same kind of dreams, on this part of the Earth and another on the other part of the Earth.
This happens, without knowing and sharing of their experiences with each other. The dreaming of the same dreams, helps to establish a fact. It helps to prove, basically the “matrix” of all human beings is the one and the same. Though during the process of evolution and civilization it has been subdivided on various grounds i.e. colors, race and religion. In this division the virtue of ‘racial supremacy, and, economic excellence” played major role.
To make it obvious that human matrix is the one and the same, some types of dreams are worth mentioned which are dreamt by people around the World. These types are homogeneous dreams. These are, of falling from height/ flying high in the sky or in the air/ falling of teeth/ watching oneself nude in public, and dream of spouse infidelity etc. This common types list of dreams, may rather be longer one.
The significance of dreams in one’s life can not be ignored. Al though, every one is inclined to dream the dreams, as per his own mental set up. Researchers are of the opinion, if we ably recall our dreams next morning, and interpret and analyse them regularly and properly. This process, can be helpful in finding the hidden messages and aspirations of the dreams. This is true that every person in his sleep goes through the process of dreaming, but is not able to recall them altogether. This phenomenon occurs with majority of people……
Postulation
Scholars of this field postulated, if we learn to interpret and analyse our dreams, we can have inkling of some major coming events of our life. But interesting point is, “how to recall the dreams?” When we query a person, whether he is in habit of dreaming the dreams; he responds with a reposed confidence. ” Sir I am inclined to take deep, sound sleep and that too devoid of any sort of dream. No question of dreaming a dream in sleep arises.” Is it so? Answer is , “certainly not. We on a routine basis are prone to go through the series of dreams in our sleep! some one experiences the dreams at the early hour of the night and some later on, on different hours but we altogether forget them. Often they wash away from our memory.
Dreams psychoanalysts have suggested a simple solution to recall the dreams, and that is given the title, “incubation of dreams.” In this methodology, when a person goes to his bed for sleeping, he makes a conviction to recall his dreams. Dreams, too are the part and parcel of “mechanism of brain.” And brain miraculously orders to itself, and follow the same order itself as well. So it begins to recall dreams shortly. At the initial stage, your this conviction breaks your sleep, no sooner you dreamt a dream.
Now if your memory bank is of strong power, you can recollect your dream in details for next day to come. On the contrary, if you have got a weaker memory system, you are advised to put down your dream’s detail in a note book. On next morning, by going through that details try to interpret and analyse that. At the initial stage, you may get confused in interpreting of dreams. But in coming few days, you will certainly attain the ability to find the hidden messages behind the interpretation. This entire procedure would begin to entertain you properly, with a “faith” in some supernatural power, who runs this Universe and we call him “God.” Penned by– Vinay Pharasi…..
