How do women outlive men … ?

But, is it the real picture of a woman outliving her husband ? No!  If we ponder and scrutinize the actual facts, it reveals so many surprising things.  In general, every woman, as a widow crosses the age barrier of age limit, at which her husband passed away. For example, if the husband of a woman passed away at the age of 70 years and at that time she was 65 years old. This does not mean, she is destined to survive up to the age of 70 years only.

In majority of cases, women are found to survive more than ten or more years than the age of demise of their husband. As in this case, a woman as a widow, naturally survives up to 75 – 80 years of her natural life age.In Indian context, often husband dies in majority of the cases, in the life time of his wife. May be, the same my happen in other races.

                              Factor number one, behind the phenomenon

Then, what are the factors, leading to the survival of a woman much longer than man? Firstly, men are supposed to confront more mental stress in social life than women. A man is taught from his childhood, ” a man does not cry or shed tears.”  Now, in this worldly life, where man is forced to strive to earn  bread and butter in arduous circumstances , there in his diurnal life he confronts the high level of stress on various fronts.

A simple paradigm otherwise is, if a family member is seriously ill, the woman of the house consoles herself by shedding tears and helps herself vent out her suffocation. But, the man of the house is bound to maintain his ease and assume the posture, as if, everything will restore to normalcy. His this posture is required to boost the moral of other members of the family. Though, inside his heart, he too is suffering from the same intense degrees of perilous agony, as that of the woman of the house.

Since, woman vents out her agony by shedding the tears, it helps refresh her mental set up. While on the contrary, man  continuously undergoes through suffocating agonizing mental set up. This is one reason, why men are more prone to cardiac problems. Apart from, to assuage the stress, man tends to take shelter in hard drinks, smoking or other substances. And in due course of time, he becomes habitual to the bad habits and bad habit dies hard. Further more, after a long lapse of time, his bad habits too begin to effect his health adversely.

The factor of motherhood in women and aesthetic sense

The one more significant factor, helping to increase the longevity in women is  “motherhood.” At the time of giving birth to a child, a woman is bound to undergo “infinite labor pain.” This is like an ordeal to go through for a woman. That helps convert her into a human being, harnessed with a strong mental and physical built.

The third reason is, women are given to find pleasure in minor things like an innocent child. Apart from, their fashion sense or aesthetic sense too is of unique kind. This sense is so keen and minute and men never can compete that. As a paradigm, costumes or jewelry wore by a woman are  mere fashionable accessories in the eyes of man. But the hawk eyed women take notice of each and every minute design and description of these so called accessories, in the outfit of another women. She keenly takes interest into the fabric of clothing of another woman, in to the design of her jewelry, her foot gears and so on.

On the contrary, at the utmost, a man roughly notices for a while, the blouse or shirt of a woman in a way, whether it’s a low neck cut or upper cut one. His mere intention is to look into the contours of women. But, it may sound surprising, even in the fashionable world of women, there are more than hundred of varieties of low neck cut blouse in the sartorial designing. This kind of notice of minute description is taken by women only and they enjoy doing that.

                                                Humor in women

The propensity of humor in women, too is of its own kind. A minor happening may bring pleasure and laugh to them. For example, if occasionally, a glass of water slips off from the hand of a woman and water spills on the floor. This too can help exhilarate her in its own way, even she can laugh upon this minor happening with her heart’s contents.

On the contrast, the sense of humor begins to ebb away in the life of a man, no sooner he reaches to his 35 years of the age. A time comes in the life of the man, when he forgets to give a laugh. No doubt, he laughs but occasionally and never he begins to laugh on trivial things.

                                     Affectionate calling by the child

Another paradigm is a unique one. When, a minor child comes back from his school and throws away his school bag and anxiously calls out, ” Mom, where are you?” This affectionate call of the child is enough to make her entire day wholesome.But, it’s not the same for a man as a father. The another fact too is there in the picture. The same child, on becoming ,  a grown up gets married and lost in his young wife and children. Even he begins to ignore his mother. But, even after,  a woman as a mother tries to find out in that man, her lost child. Now she shifts her affection for grand children.

As told previously, the physical and mental build of a woman is far different from a man. Like wise, in the same ratio, the secretion of health maintaining hormones in women remain more active than men. These hormones are endorphins, dopamine etc, that help activate metabolism properly. Biologically, they are inclined to become stress free than men. This leads in women to outlive men.
