Efficient cause of free sex, fornication and post marital affairs…..

The unethical behaviour or backsliding has ever been marked as practice in every culture. Be that of, any race or religion. Might there be difference of intensity of degrees. Since the day of the dawn of the civilization to the present day, this “unruly or waywardness” in human demeanor had been noticed keenly by the pioneers of society. To check and control this “downfall or backslide” in people, every society tried to enact stringent code of conduct. This code of conduct was expected, to be followed and applied by one and all.

The “unethical behavioral mode,” here directly connotes about violation of social norms and laws. The social norms got postulated, regard maintaining decorum and decency, between man and women relationship. Further more, this stressed, violation in their “sexual conduct” not warranted as such. But despite of all control, the sinful activities are conducted in hidden way or candidly. And all this done or committed, in defiance to the well settled and established code of of ethical conduct .

                           Framing of family law, as customary

In pursuance of these stringent ethical code, every society on the earth postulated the concept of the “family.” Our all ethical norms and values, dance around this concept of family. A vast code of conduct has been expatiated in dealing with relation amid husband and wife, brother and sister, parent and children, teacher and students etc. In this context, what is forbidden has separately been expatiated as well. The abstinence, continence, penance, diet, internal exchange of behaviour with in the society etc everything has been widely described and coded as such. It is worth notice that this “code of conduct of social system” was not framed with in a day.

It took long centuries in series, to make and formulate this code of conduct by our seers and saints. They, constantly kept a vigilance eyes upon the conduct of our people at large. In pursuance of that, timely get on framing this code of conduct, with timely amendments. This code of conduct rooted down in gradual process in our life.  Along with framing of Socio-ethical code of conduct, a penal code was enacted. This penal was harnessed with power and mechanism, to help implement the code of ethical conduct. 

                                                Social taboos

  Apart from this, a taboo of “general social boycott or banishment,” upon violation of ethical code, too was imposed and practiced as widely accepted custom. This “social boycott” had a ponderous effect. Since, every society in old time was divided and subdivided into casts, sub casts, class and bye class. This division with in the social system, is still observed in every race and culture. This boycott was a “callous punishment,” In the sense, it worked more effectively than the punitive implementation of the State. In a nut shell, our ethics were imposed and observed heavily.

But despite of that,  the vices of fornication and post marital affairs kept on survive, and in the modern time these bloomed highly. But the basic issue is what is the efficient cause of this downfall? A practice of fornication and post marital affairs is widely acknowledged in the name of “free sex” in advanced societies. While, in conservative (closed) societies, though not acknowledged but practiced clandestinely,  ’cause it,s forbidden there. But somehow, as vices it,s present there too. Leave apart the advanced societies, in the conservative societies the efficient cause is attributed to bad company, financial crisis, poor Sanskaras, illiteracy etc. Though, these are not the efficient cause but verifying reasons. The efficient cause behind all this lies in the genetic code of mankind.

                 Concept of family introduced at a late stage

  On what day day, the concept of family was introduced into the social system is not confirmed.  But it,s certain that it was introduced at a very late stage. This concept hardly goes back about six to seven thousand years only. When mankind stepped into the threshold of civilization. Here, we try not to notice the fact, the process of evolution of man kind is of hundred thousand years old. A journey from Primal man to stone stage, then followed by metal stage and so on.

During that stage, he was presumed to live in “group.” Mark the word “group”, that after many thousand years transformed into “tribe.” At that time, we hardly can imagine the concept of “family.” The groups or tribes subsisted for many thousand years unitedly for the purpose of survival only. To quench the hunger of the stomach and of biological need, women were tool as such, and in return women begotten the offspring. It was natural, to procure the strong and healthy offspring, women might have a choice to cohabit with strong man candidly or stealthily.

Further more, in the process of evolution of survival, series of inter group or inter tribal invasion were common. The destiny of such brutal feud, either ended with the annihilation of male members of tribe. Or fleeing away, leaving behind women and children. These members but natural were made captive, by the victor and used as slaves for personal enjoyment. The same practice still we observe, during our present warfare though not accepted legally. But women are looted and ravished, it,s a common fact.

The conclusive part of this all is. Before the realization of the concept of “family,” for hundred thousand of years, the wayward sexual behaviour remained in practice. That, as a behavior has dub in our genetic code. That unruly backsliding, has been put to restraint for last six to seven thousand of years only. That too, through implementation of ethical code and law machinery. But despite of all given efforts, the oldest suppressed, unruly, wayward genetic code of Primal man heads up and force a man to lead stray life.
