As a parent, you might have noticed the prank of a toddler or a child aged between two to five years. Firstly, he demands the toy, like a small movable car or twitting bird of his choice, he plays with them for some days. But after that, he begins to pound the toy on the earth to get it dismantled. Why a child dismantles his favorite toy? The key factor, behind this dismantling of the favorite toy is, his curiosity. The curiosity, to know the secret or mystery of, ” how the car moves or the bird chirps?” This sense of curiosity in man is inherent by nature.
The same sense of curiosity we often observe in some pet animals like dog and cat. Though, this sense of curiosity may be attributed to their “animal instinct.” That propensity, helps transform them into a hunting creature. This sense, sometimes put them into perilous situation. The proverb, “curiosity kills the cat,” perhaps has got its origin, in the same observation marked by our forefathers. The element of ” curiosity and quest” are the significant factors of the human psychology. And, may be counted as “progenitor of all kind of knowledge.”
The element of “curiosity and quest
This element, has transformed a primal man into present civilized and wise man. Mankind has fostered a “wish” to become “omniscient.” In Indian philosophy, the god has been confirmed as an entity who is “omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient.” Along with, every living creature has been identified and attributed with some “atom” of god. Withal, every creature on the earth, is endowed with a vital organ called “brain”. May this proportion of element of brain, in creatures be less or more in mass accordingly. As such, every creature on the earth or planet lacks the perfection.
If, we discuss this matter in context to human beings. We find that a “wise man, ” too, is fraught with the information or knowledge, in some specific field and not in every field of knowledge. When he tries his hand in every field, he is mocked at, as “the jack of all trades but master of none.” When, we focus about the caliber of human mind, the biologists have got an opinion. This opinion says, that even after passing through the hundreds of hundred years of process of evolution, and, achieving the astonishing results as a modern world, still the man has ably used only 2% capacity of his mind’s caliber.
Labyrinth of mind
According to a study the learning and grasping power of our brain is so massive. Our mind can store the writing contents of all books, contained in forty big libraries. But, yet it has not obtained that developed stage. Our Universe is affirmed to be directed and guided by the god, as the ” first cause.” The various hypothesis propounded about the existence of god. A common opinion about his omnipresence, in the shape, that after creating this cosmos, he has put into the mind of every creature, the minuscule of his own mind as clone .
In mankind, some one is, in the vocation of medicines, engineering, physicist, mathematician or merchant or painter or artisan or skilled or half skilled etc . But whatever a man is endowed with specific skill, is not perfect. Despite passing through the long chain of evolution, It’s a fact. Every man in his field, ever feels that still a good deal of information he can explore or make some research on and on. Every person in his own specific field makes some invention or discovery and estimates his findings as the masterpiece. But, in coming few months or years his finding is push aside with new research.
At the beginning of this blog, it was mentioned that infantile curiosity later on transforms into quest for knowledge. Further, every one may be gifted with this element of “quest.” For example, a crowd gathers around an injured person, hit by an accident. People gather, with intent to watch him only.
But, what were the factors responsible for the occurrence of the accident, and, how could they be avoided in future by taking precautionary measures. This, may not be pondered over by the crowd in general. Some selective, intelligent persons those may be counted on the finger tips only, are supposed to be present there.
