Travelling back to roots
It’s innate in every person’s disposition that he is familiar with Mother Nature. In most of the cases he remains attached with the Nature subconsciously, but never he feels so. Apparently he thinks himself cut off from that. In fact, he is careless about the phenomenon that incessantly shapes up in his mind and heart. This phenomenon is, “man’s bonding with the Nature.” Through this phenomenon of “bonding with Nature” man completes his journey back to his roots.
To realize this ‘bonding’ you merely need to throw a glance at your surroundings. On screening minutely, you find, in your house ( whether you own it or it’s rental) you have collected some items which have got an affinity with Nature in a real sense or in a prototype. For example, you have planted some Basil plant in a tree pot or Money plant in a bottle. You may argue, Basil plant you have grown being a religious Hindu and money plant with a popular conception , it is taken as a token of inflow of money as propounded by some traditional architecture.
Here we ignore one fact, our ancestors who propounded these religious cum architectural traditional laws, they already had had deep affinity with Mother Nature. They too were acquainted with the vital phenomena that no man survives naturally without being in touch of the Nature. This made them to propound some principles of life that help us live closely in ambiance with Nature. This affinity with Nature is not associated with plants only, it correlates with animals as well. No sooner we come to a comfort zone, we begin to domesticate some dog, cat or birds in our home either. What is this? Here again it may be argued, dog is tamed to protect the house. Right you are! But why you begin to feel an intimate bonding with your dog?
Why you take his proper care? Why don’t you forget to provide him food timely? On the occasion, when you leave your house to attend some social function with your entire family, then why you request your neighbor to take care of your dog properly? This is the paradigm of your innate affinity with Nature. May you not be a ‘pet lover’ or ‘ plants lover’, despite the fact, you hang some painting in your sitting room wall that depicts some natural panoramic scenery. Isn’t it a part of travelling back to the roots.
I am giving this specific description about people who reside in Urban areas for so many generations. It’s not a matter of fact, whether they have got some connections with their village left far behind! And the same Urbanized generation when plan to enjoy their vacation, in majority of cases they plan to visit some hill station or sea shore. Why is so? Isn’t it a repressed wish to be in affinity with Nature?
Causes of back journey
The evolution of mankind was not made possible in last few thousands years only. In those thousands of years, we have possibly made our “civilization to grow up” on. Prior to this phase of civilization, for millions of years we firstly completed the phases of evolution as a man from stone age to prehistoric man and on and on. Our entire journey of evolution as well as of most part of the civilization has been completed by sitting in the lap of Mother Nature only. How can man sneak away from the concept of Nature that is deeply inscribed and embodied into his chromosomes.
Now, I describe this with another paradigm. No sooner, when a person comes to the phase of comfort zone and builds an independent house buying a plot of land with space. Along with house, he plans to maintain a lawn with greenery. He decorates the lawn with green turf barricading it with some flowery plants. If much more space he avails, he begins to enjoy his hobby of kitchen gardening. May be in the name of organic vegetables, but why? Answer lies in the fact, never we were beyond the nature, though artificial life we have adopted. We can’t survive aloof from the Nature. Be it planting of a small plant in a tree pot or hanging of some natural scenery on wall. All this connotes out incessant subconscious affinity with Nature. ( End of the part I )..
